Some dreams have only words. No visual component exists.
These dreams typically last a brief moment. Usually, one sentence comprises the entire dream.
Here are some examples:
Dream #1 "Life is a good, good place for those who do what they are supposed to do."
Dream #2 "The happiness of life hinges on the image and likeness of God."
These dreams, as exemplified above, do not require much interpretation. But, dream #2 certainly requires some research. What are the image and likeness of God? How does this produce happiness?
Dreams foretell future events, reveal character, expose enemies, warn of plots against you and provide other valuable knowledge. Learn how to leverage dreaming to increase your awareness. To find articles by topic, use the alphabetical keyword list in the left margin, or use the search bar.

Can a Demon Possess Me in a Dream?
A demon can possess someone in a dream, just as they can in real life. The spiritual right is gained by an agreement or bargain.
Here, a young person seems to have done just this. The following dream is posted in a forum:
My Response:
The devil is willing to give people whatever they want- in exchange for rights in their life and a hope to gain their soul. However, every person retains the right to reject the darkness in the world and turn to God at any time, even just before death.
Here, a young person seems to have done just this. The following dream is posted in a forum:
Okay, I can't remember all of the dream, but i do remember the end.
I remember standing on a huge golden staircase. It was almost a heaven setting- a big ascending staircase, golden light, clouds, etc. Jimi Hendrix was there :unworthy: , and he gave me a genie lamp. There was a multicolored vapor coming out of the spout. It was like if you ground up a rainbow, then boiled it: this was like what was coming out of the spout. I remember something about "Angel," like Angel breath or Angel Dust. Angel Dust is PCP, but PCP ia a powder. This wasn't PCP.
Anyhoo, I think I put the nozzle in my nose or my mouth and WOW!!! :ecstatic:
I saw vibrant colors, and heard incredible noise, (can't remember specific sound) it was total euphoria. It was like an explosion! Like when you close your eyes really tight and press on them with your hands and look around. I literally felt high. It was really cool. It didn't last long, :x but it was really awesome. I don't do drugs, and I've never been high/drunk/stoned in any form or fashion. What's your take on this?
My Response:
A genie lamp comes from the middle east. The Arabic word for a demon is "jinn", the adjective for something demonic: jinnie.
That is the origin of our word, genie.
Jimi Hendrix represents music, the lamp, a demonic force.
Satan offers powers to musicians, actors, writers... Many of them make their "deals" in their dreams. The cost is always the same- your soul. If your talent level suddenly increases, and you start having visions of complete songs and complete compositions in dreams-- you have a problem.
Check out the video, "They Sold Their Souls for Rock 'n Roll". It is posted free on YouTube. The devil is in all forms of music, even the "Christian" genre.
This is a bad, bad dream.
I knew a rocker once, a former star... he would go on benders-- days on end drunk. In his sleep he moaned the most terrible moans I have ever heard, like something from Hell- no exaggeration.
The cure is to renounce all demonic forces and all evil things. Make a clear request for Jesus to fill your life.
Also--- did you take in anything that might be demonic? A Buddha statue? An old book, witchcraft books, etc? If so- throw it out of your house, burn it if you can.
The devil is willing to give people whatever they want- in exchange for rights in their life and a hope to gain their soul. However, every person retains the right to reject the darkness in the world and turn to God at any time, even just before death.
Black Dogs & "Black" Women
There have been a few dreams recently, posted in forums, about black dogs and dark women.
These are manifestations of evil.
A black dog is an entity which obeys its master. These work for a master, a dark force. To see these in association with a person reveals to you the spirit in which that person works. Be sure you are certain as to the identity of the person.
A black dog can also represent a dark force itself. If some force is coming against you down the road, in your future, this can be represented by a dark dog or other dark animal. (Note: a dark horse represents famine.)
A black woman represents the voice of evil. She gives bad advice to create war, division, hatred and self-rejection-- all the terrible things of the world. This should absolutely NOT be interpreted to mean a woman descendant of the African continent. The dark skin of Africans has no spiritual significance.
To develop the concept, note that one woman recently dreamed of a dark woman commanding black dogs.
(Read comments below thread for more information!)

Dreams: Valuable or Valueless?
Dreams provide (sometimes) future information. Misunderstanding this provides a stumbling block to understanding.
DREAMS ABOUT... JOINING THE ARMY?
I joined the Marines after high school. I spent 4 enjoyable years in the Marines, and loved the Corps. After the Marines, I had an entire series of dreams that I was "in the army". This baffled me considerably. “Why would I ever join the army?” I would ask myself. “I’d never do that.” I said. Marines do not exit the Corps and enter the ranks of the army. So, these dreams remained uninterpretable.
The dreams were always about serving in the army. In some, I was doing work, going on missions- but which did not involve direct combat. In others, I was IN the firefight. In some of the combat dreams, fellow soldiers and I win. In a few others, we take heavy casualties and losses. Reading Carl Jung, I could not isolate the symbolism of it. “Is there an internal struggle?” I wondered.
Conclusion-- The Army Service Dreams:
Later, I actually joined the army. I had thought the dreams were symbolic. Because I thought, "I would never join the army. I am a Marine." The Marines have a statement, “Once a Marine, Always a Marine.” Marines consider enlistment in the army taboo. Because of this, I could not interpret the dream to gain understanding.
Beliefs also roiled my ability to interpret the dream set. Like most American Christians, I believed dreams stem from neural mishaps of the brain. How confused that belief is! So, I failed to comprehend the dreams due to both my understanding of the reality of dreams and my prideful resistance against ever joining the army.
WHY I JOINED THE ARMY:
Predicting the events leading to my enlistment in the National Guard would have been impossible. I joined the Guard because… well, I’ll just say it. God told me to do it.
One day, praying about something else, I clearly heard the Lord say, “I want you to brush up on your Arabic and to do what Mike did.” I was stunned. First, the Lord does not always speak so plainly, and second, Mike had joined the National Guard.
“Oh, Lord,” I said, “I’ll buy a book tomorrow and begin studying immediately.
But, I can’t join the army.” My new side business was doing well, I thought. My social stood on a precarious limb. I did not want to go anywhere. I did not want to be in the army!
Each day after my refusal, I heard- but only once per day –every day, the Lord remind me. “You know what I want you to do,” he would say. Sometimes, I would feel a hand on the back of my shoulder. Not pushing, but lightly pressing, it reassured me. Finally, after three months, I relinquished and enlisted for three years of “one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer.”
Portion of the Dreams Fulfilled:
At the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom, in March, 2003, I deployed with my unit to Kuwait. I served there one year, stepping into Iraq for only a few hours, but enough to hear an ambush on the horizon and witness the wounded and damaged vehicles as they passed.
De Ja Vu
After recalling dreams regularly for about two and a half years, I began to observe that a dream would be recalled to my mind just before the actual event would transpire. This is usually within 24 hours of the fulfillment. When many dreams comprise a full dream set, the process of automatic recall may begin weeks or months earlier.
This auto-recall process serves to warn in a more timely fashion. “Here it comes,” it says.
MORE WAR COMING:
While in Kuwait, I recalled several of my “in the army” dreams. Many more dreams remain in the dream set. Only from the “peaceful” dreams have any been fulfilled.
About one-third (or less) of the army dream set transpired in my deployment to Iraq/Kuwait in March, 2003 for OEF/OIF.
The remainder, including all the combat dreams, exist in some future campaign of fighting, some future state of war. I expect these other dreams will come to pass. Without any change in the nature of men and nations, I expect to see war in our future. However, these dreams are not cause to fear. They are cause for celebration. We are warned so that we may be saved. There is a Divine force guiding us and desiring to preserve our lives.
Expect some of your dreams to be of the same nature: actual precognitive dreams. Dreams can be, but are not always, precognitive.
Here are more dreams of future war for Americans. These are also given to a Marine:

LESSONS LEARNED FROM A FALSE DREAM
A friend emailed me a dream he had. I agree with his assessment that it was a false dream. In the dream, a woman who looked like someone from his past- who brought trouble- took him somewhere based on a promise. Once there, it became clear it was a deception. Here is my reply:
Your mind "translates" a spiritual event into things it can process and record. So, the evil voice manifests on your mental screen as a woman who led you into trouble before. It could not be a man because of the baby.
It makes more sense for a woman to have a child than for a man to have a child.
The zip line was never there- this is another mental translation (we can say interpretation as well) of a means of traveling in the spirit. Your mind desires some explanation other than "translated from one event in spiritual space to another event in spiritual space". (or some explanation like that..) The mind wants something comfortable and familiar- like a zipline, a flying carpet, an airplane, or even a broom.
The entire dream should be ignored. These evil dreams have only one value--
These dreams can be assessed to determine works of the enemy. Here are some things you can possibly assess:
1. Plans the enemy has against you. The enemy develops carefully structured plans and implements them over time. They are not afraid or too lazy to execute a 50 year plan against someone. They are not afraid to raise up false leaders and emplace them in government and church to lead the people to destruction. Billy Graham, Ted Haggerty, these are works of the enemy. They stepped out of God's plan and stepped into the enemy's plan.
For example, the idea that one soul dies, ascends and then watches over other souls is a New Age teaching. satan propagates these ideas through dreams and visions. Even those who do not consciously remember the dream they received from the devil, they will still be the recipient of a wrong idea-- but have no recollection how they got it.
2. Characteristics of the enemy's dreams. For example- was the nature of the woman guide EXACTLY like the woman you knew? Or was she a bit odd, or different in appearance and behavior? Your mind will "fix" some things to comply with what you remember of her, but some characteristics foreign to the real woman will remain.
It is a characteristic of the enemy's fabrications that a person, presented as someone you know, is really a demon. Remember: satan is able to present himself as an angel of Heaven. I imagine it is easier to mimic a human.
This is a dream you should not repeat to any other person. Just forget it, except for the intelligence value I briefly outlined above. There is likely more information available through analysis.
But the value is only about the enemy. In other words, the meta data is valuable, but not the data delivered by the deceivers in the dream.
We must keep our eyes on the Lord of Heaven, and listen to what He says, the words of the enemy are nothing. They will all cease.
God's words will remain forever.

DREAM TEST: MUST BE CONSISTENT
Dream Authenticity Test: Consistency
Some dreams are figments of the mind. Other dreams are so polluted by bias, worries, thoughts and analysis they are useless to the receiver. But, when you receive a clear dream, how do you know if it is true or not?
One test of a dream is consistency. The dream must be consistent with all your other dreams about the same topic. If you never had a dream on the topic, this test does not apply. However, if a new dream suddenly contradicts your past dreams, or goes in a new direction, proceed with skepticism and caution.
For example (I’m making this up.), say you have dreamed your entire life that you will be a scientist. Then, after 20 years, you dream you are a fireman. What is this about?
Most likely, it is a false dream. False dreams, many times, come from the enemy of all mankind- darkness, or satan. His tactics are consistent. He uses the same tools because they work. Some of these are delay, misdirection and doubt.
The devil wants you to fail in life. Believe it or not, he succeeds in ruining many lives with only delay. Some people quit after only a few delays. If your desire is to be a scientist, ignore a dream that you should be a fireman. The enemy of your life wants you to lose time chasing after the wrong thing.

CAN TWO PEOPLE SHARE THE SAME EXACT DREAM, TOGETHER?
SHARED DREAMS HAPPEN-- ABSOLUTELY TRUE
There are absolutely, without question, shared dreams.
These can be spiritual events, shared by more than one person. I will give a few examples:
Entering a Young Woman's Dream to Fight Her Enemies
1. A Marine (once a Marine, always a Marine), I had a penchant for attacking demons or other oppressive forces whenever I saw them. One day, while working in my West Philadelphia shop, a young woman customer (a Christian girl) came in. She shopped in my store three or four times a week, and was always cheery. On one particular day, she walked about slowly and said nothing. When she stared at a point on the floor for a long minute, I asked, "Is something bothering you?"
Taken Hostage in a Dream by Outside Sentient Beings:
She said, "I came in here, I don't know why exactly... But I know I need to tell YOU this. In my dreams, the last three nights, I have been held prisoner. I was forcibly captured the first night, and put into a small room made of concrete blocks. Now I cannot have any dreams other than being a prisoner in that room. Each night, I dream the same. I am back again in this tiny room with walls of gray concrete bricks. I am not alone there. There are other prisoners as well."
This made me angry inside. A pressure came up inside my chest. I thought, 'I'm going to go and get those bastards.' But I said, "Don't worry about it. It is going to go away."
I did not see her for almost three full weeks.
When she finally returned, she went straight to the deli counter. She hunched over the brown shopping bags holding bagels left over from the morning. She looked through the bags, selected a few, bagged them and brought them to the register. As I rang up her items, she spoke in a hushed tone, "Do you know why I haven't been in here for so long?"
I looked up. Her eyes were directly on me. Her words were very clear.
"No," I answered carefully.
She said, "The night after I told you my problem, you came into my dream. I was sitting in the hostage room with the others. Suddenly, the wall blew out. It just exploded. You ran through it, firing machine guns in both hands and killing all the hostage takers. You threw another grenade and blew out the opposite wall and ran through that hole. You never stopped." She looked at me. "It was so violent. I have been afraid to come see you."
"Have your dreams returned to normal?" I asked.
"Yes," she said.
I stared at her. That is how things get done, I thought. She turned without a word and walked out.
She never shopped at my store again.
I have more examples. Most of the examples are about coming together to fight enemies. I have even had shared dreams with people who I met AFTER the dream. My friend Edward is an example.
I have also met enemies first in dreams. Again- fights, but in this case against demonically intertwined individuals. One was a sorcerer (yes, really). Another was a Freemason- the full-blown, fully complicit, Satan-worshiping kind.
Another was a real estate investor who frequented one of my coffee shops. He mistook my interest in real estate investing for amorous interest. This man was not really an enemy, but I saw him in the distance. I could feel his spirit, though.
There is ZERO doubt-- two human beings, uniquely created individuals can be in the same dream together. The two can meet by intention, in a friendly manner. Darkly, sometimes one attempts, and sometimes succeeds in forcing his will on the other(s). That is what happened to me against the Freemason. I ended the work of the real estate investor by clarifying my friendship with him. I defeated the sorcerer by casting a demon out of his familiar.
Visiting a Friend in a Dream
2. These can also be friendly dreams. When I lived in Philadelphia, I entered a tough time in my life. During the day, my business partner, ex-business partner, and others attacked me verbally with gossip, emotionally with cross looks and financially by emptying safes and accounts.
In this neighborhood lived a community of "far out hippies." One of these was a gifted sitar player from India. Raji embodied the best of friendly well meaning people. Several times during my ordeal, I sat with Raji in dreams. Once, his friend Arun joined him as he warned me of an attack that would come against me (which I thwarted thanks to the warning.) Raji encouraged and warned me in my dreams with him. I was going through tough times in my business. We were very different people in life, but in our dream meetings, he was a valuable friend.
Once, I had a long dream of just me and him talking. At the end of the dream, I asked him, "How can I prove to you, tomorrow, that we had this discussion?" He pondered, then said, "Tell me my favorite band is "ONE"."
When I saw him, I conveyed the dream and the confirmation. He said, "Well, that is certainly true, my favorite band is called "One". I asked about the band, as I had never heard of it. He said, "It is MY BAND."
Also, considering that angels are also unique sentient creations like us, there are many positive interactions with angels in dreams. Angels deliver messages both in person (it still happens today) and in dreams.
Cast Out Unwanted Visitors to Your Dreams:
Remember, you have a right to deny access. Declare something like, "You have no right to be here. I command you to go in the name of Jesus!" Demons absolutely fear the name of Jesus. People and other sentient forms also have to obey. No exceptions.
Dreams Sent to Multiple People
Three Dreams about a Broken Couple Reuniting
While dating, I broke with the woman who is currently my wife. While we were apart, and not communicating, two of her friends dreamed we would reunite. One friend, someone I also knew, saw us walking in my wife's hometown, holding hands. Another friend, also from her hometown dreamed she was seated in a fancy restaurant, eating a nice meal. She saw me walk in, wearing a white shirt, and kiss my wife.
My wife also dreamed we would be reunited. In her words:
I entered my apartment, #9. Someone says, "He is back. He came back to you." I see my mother and my family seated in the apartment. I see you seated there. My heart moved and I said, "He needs me."
Later, we did reunite. The friend who dreamed of me kissing my wife in a restaurant-- she attended our wedding and reception. We had an excellent meal on a rented boat converted into a hotel. She saw me in my white shirt (jacket removed for dancing), and I certainly kissed my new wife many times that night!
Five Dreams about a Murder
When I first began researching dreams to learn of experiences similar to my own, I found a collection of dreams recorded by an Englishman in the 1800's. He lived in India. The most fascinating tale was of five friends who all dreamed the murder of a sixth man, who recorded the event to paper.
One morning, he dreamed he was walking with his usual group of friends, in a party mood, wearing tuxedos and evening gowns. Without any warning, a wild man rushed from an alley. The wild man wielded an axe, attacked the one man, and murdered him.
The dream disturbed him, but what followed really shook him. Five friends called and reported the same dream to him. Some called that morning. A few called later in the week.
Frustrated, he mulled it over, and then spoke with his friends, asking them, "Why did you not help me? Why did you not rush in? If you all rush in, you can overpower the man and save me."
After a few months, the group walked down a street after a dance. Suddenly from an alley, a homeless man rushed out with a knife. He leaped at the man who had been attacked in all the dreams. But, in the real event, his friends rushed in and overpowered the homeless man. No one was hurt at all.
Commentary on Five Dreams about a Murder:
Axe represents knife: Remember, the mind distorts images both in real life and in dreams. Many of us have met energetic, gregarious people. Meeting them a second time, there is a surprise. They seem "smaller". This results from a distortion of the mind- it magnifies the physical size of the person in our memory. This represents the size of the personality, not the actual physical presence. The exaggeration of the axe represented the magnitude of importance the weapon carried in the dream- it killed their friend.
Several Friends Dream a Baby Girl's Name
At a church in Athens, Georgia, a man wanted to name his daughter Piper. His wife disliked the name. However, the man believed for many years that one day he would have a daughter named Piper. They discussed it at home, and the wife held her ground. Then, a friend of the wife called and said, "I had a dream that you had a baby girl. Her name was Piper." No one knew she was pregnant. She had not released this information to anyone.
A second friend, who lived in another state, called with the same message. She added, "I just really felt that I needed to call you and share this dream with you."
Eventually, several people they knew called and shared a dream of little Piper. One even said, "You are supposed to name her Piper."

Can a Dream Mark My Body?
A poster at dreamviews.com dreamed of eight fleas biting her leg. In the morning, she had eight bites precisely where she saw them in her dream. When she went to sleep, there were only three small marks left from small objects ejected from a tube while cleaning a lawnmower. Here is my response:
In a dream, physical pain or external noise, such as a siren, can enter into your dream. Your mind receives the stimulus. Another function, which automatically translates all input into something it can understand, formats a picture using the input.
Possible interpretations:
1. The 8 red points actually are the stimulus your mind used to create the dream. i.e., the pain or itch sensation carried over from the physical into the mental. This would be a physical dream only, the kind the know-nothing science professors teach as the only dreams.
2. There is a demonic attack against you. A demonic attack may manifest against your body, and later in your life. If this is the case, when you pray against it in the name of Jesus... such a wound will typically heal faster than normal, and will not leave a mark or scar. In this interpretation, the dream was symbolic of the demonic attack. A demon enters your life by right. It can be anything, really. Depression, sickness, anger, participation in demonic activities (including false religions). When a demon is cast out, or defeated, it will attempt to return, and bring with it seven friends (1 + 7 = 8).
If you kicked a bad habit, but that temptation returned recently- this is your interpretation (likely).
3. You were actually bitten by insects, and your spirit saw this in a dream. If this is the case, you should expect more bites in subsequent nights.

Estimating Event Manifestation by Dream Density or Frequency
It is possible to form a good idea of when an event will manifest. This is done by monitoring the frequency of dreams about that event.
When the subject event of a collection of dreams approaches in time, the dreams about that event will sometimes increase in frequency. For example, in 1996, about October, two dreams came to me within one week of each other. These two dreams, about fighting a surprise fight against an adversary with a physical advantage. A third dream occurred about one month previous to the two recent dreams. All three dreams had the same abstract concepts in relationship, emotion and surprise. The result in each dream was also the same. And, the same internal event fueled the shift from victim to victor.
Dream #1: (I have forgotten how I got into this jam, but…) There is a man I must fight. He brandishes a knife and waves it about. I realize he has a huge advantage. I am unarmed. A wave of fear passes over me and my muscles in my arms, legs and back stiffen. My eyes grow large to take in the view.
Then, I feel a cold wash of light on the crown of my head. This cool sensation follows immediately behind the wave of fear. The cool feeling brings with it this instant knowing: “What I am doing is righteous. What he is doing is not. The Lord will not hand me over to him. I will be okay.” And so, with this peace, I engage the man, disarm him, and immobilize him on the ground.
Dream #2: This man is a martial arts expert. His white gi is crisp and held tightly closed with a black belt. He holds the horse stance and his fists are one in front, toward me and the other pulled tightly into his ribcage. I realize suddenly I cannot avoid this fight. A wave of fear passes over me and my muscles in my arms, legs and back stiffen with fear.
Then, a cold beam of light strikes the crown of my head. The silvery-white light is a cylindrical column which splashes and sparks as it meets the crown of my head. It immediately follows the fear wash. I instantly know this: “What I am doing is righteous. What he is doing is not. The Lord will not deliver me to him. I will be okay.” The light and this new knowledge relax me. I step forward and fight him. It is a clumsy grappling match. But, I emerge victorious.
Dream #3: I accompany a friend to a meeting just after sunrise. The meet was scheduled for just before nightfall, but the other end of the meet is late. We are nervous about this meet. For some reason, we do not wish to be seen. We converse with our counterparts. At some point the man says something which he should not know, or should not have said the way he said it. His statement produces a short thought voyage to his guilt as a betrayer. His right-hand man is a giant hillbilly looking fellow in overalls and a flannel shirt. His beard is wavy, course and colored lackluster brown.
The man pushes against the fellow I accompany and leaps back. But my friend grabs him and they struggle in a shirt pulling, chest shoving match. The giant wild man turns and begins to run toward their truck, a beat-up foreign job. An image of his thoughts enters my mind. I see two guns, a pistol and a rifle with a wooden stock, hidden behind the seat in the cab. Once again, a wave of fear passes over me and I cannot take action. I watch him run four or five steps. As he turns to look back over his cantaloupe-sized shoulder, I feel the icy cold sensation on the top of my head. I realize I am going to win. I see that these men are liars and betrayers and cannot win. I know we are righteous and have done nothing but what we promised. This knowledge is absolute and unequivocal.
My body returns to submission to my control. I run after him. I quickly gain the lost ground and leap on him. We fall to the ground and I climb up on him and deliver repeated blows until he submits. Despite what I feared, he fears me and is unable to fight me.
So, there were three dreams. The first came in September. The second and third dreams followed after a month, in October. They both came in one week. Then, I thought, "This event is due. I will have to fight."
EVENT MANIFESTATION OF THE THREE FIGHT DREAMS:
I owned a small deli in West Philadelphia. My usual custom was to allow an employee to close the shop. Occasionally, I walked the seven blocks from 46th and Kingsessing. On this night, I took Mikki, our wise old dog with me.
I closed the shop and grabbed a case of Alpo. I leaned the case against my chest and held the shrink-wrapped case of cans by placing my arms across the front and holding beneath the lower edge.
I walked down 45th Street to Baltimore and then up the hill, following the trolley tracks. I looked up and saw a young man at the corner, at the top of the hill. I thought, "He's out robbing and stealing."
Mikki ran ahead and began to cross Baltimore Avenue, down 46th Street. I saw headlights come over the crest of the hill.
Just then, the young man whistled very loudly. Mikki turned and trotted back toward the whistle as the car passed, honking once and speeding down the hill, passing me. Then, I thought, "Oh, I misjudged this young man. Perhaps he is not so bad after all."
When I reached the corner, I thanked him. He began asking about the dog. I told him I found the dog several years previous. He says he once had a dog just like Mikki, but he ran away- several years ago. Now, I began to think, "This guy is going to say the dog is his. Then, he will say I can keep the dog for fifty bucks." This was a scam that I heard reported a few times in West Philly.
We crossed Baltimore and entered the darkest block in all West Philly. There were NO lights at all on this block. In fact, the previous week, a man jumped out of bushes and called from behind me, "Hey! Come here!" Since I had carefully scanned the bushes before passing and could now not explain where he had been hidden, I said, "No." and jogged away from there.
While I am thinking about what I am going to say when he asks me for fifty dollars, the young man suddenly throws himself at me, pushing me abruptly as he throws his left arm around my back and grabs my left shoulder. He presses his right hand into my side.
"Okay. I've got a gun and I'm gonna kill you if you don't give me your wallet." I realized, that after five years of successfully ditching and outsmarting muggers, one finally got me. I laughed. "Well, you got me," I said. Then I remembered something. I laughed very hard. "Oh, but I don't have a wallet. I forgot my wallet!" I told him.
"Listen, man. I'm gonna go through your pockets, and if I find a wallet, I'm going to kill you. I'm going to shoot you dead!"
I laughed again. "Go ahead. Search through them. I have no wallet. I have no money."
He went into his speech a third time. "Alright, listen up." His confidence now seemed much stronger. I sensed a boldness in his voice. "I'm gonna go through your pockets and if I find a wallet, I'm gonna cap you with my nine!"
Suddenly, fear washed down from the top of my head. As it passed through my muscles, I kind of froze in place. My face went limp, my body became stiff. This lasted only about one second. Immediately, when I felt this, I remembered the dreams. I said to myself, "God will not hand me over."
A sense of urgency came to me. All my attention was focused in the moment. I remembered the Marine Corps counter-terrorism course I took: "In the immediate moments at the beginning of a hostage taking, the abductors are very nervous. At this time, comply with their demands. Later, they will become comfortable and make a mistake." I remembered that God promised to always provide a way out.
"Man," he said, "I'm going to go through your pockets. If I find something, I'm going to cap you. But- I'll tell you what - I'm a good guy. If I don't find anything, I'll let you punch me in my mouth." With that, he simulated a punch by raising his right hand and thrusting it toward his jaw.
I released the cans where they were. I pushed my hip into him and grabbed his belt at the small of his back. Perfectly, this would have been a judo throw from my class at San Jose State. However, just like in training, I forgot to bend my knees.
So, I just picked him up. Shocked, he grabbed onto me. I began hopping on one foot, kicking with the other to sweep his feet and complete my judo throw. Looking down, I saw some steps. I threw my shoulders down and rolled. We landed on the steps, him on bottom. I released and he released. We scrambled, and I came out on top.
He began throwing furious punches from the bottom. I leaned back and waited. A great sense of control remained with me. His punches slowed and I timed my strikes, hitting him in the bridge of the nose with my right and in the jaw with my left.
One punch landed solid. His eyes rolled around. Leaning in close to my abdomen, he grabbed around my waist and hid his face in stomach. Remembering more Marine training, I grabbed his jaw and the back of his head. I twisted his head so far, I heard the crackle of his vertebrae. His chin passed his shoulder.
"Now," I said, "I can kill you!"
After this, I never fear. I know that God prepares us for all trials in our lives.

Driving Backwards In Dreams
Some things are obvious. Driving backwards is clearly a symbol of something wrong, dangerous, or contrary to desire.
This dream could refer to any aspect of your life. This writing provides tools to assess your dream.
Remember the principle previously given: The forces of good & evil behind dreams desire to communicate with you. The backward aspect is very clear. But, in what area of your life are you "moving in the wrong direction?" Ask yourself these questions:
Driving backward can mean moving in a direction which is generally known to be "wrong" or "backward" for all society.
1. Do I already know where I am "going backward"? Some examples can be: returning to a bad habit such as excess alcohol or drunkenness; drug use; suicidal thoughts (especially if you had them before); avoiding responsibility; or even an escalating conflict at home or in the work place. All these things are contrary to forward motion in life.
This should be something that is actually reverse motion. A block, such as failure to pass an exam, earn a promotion, or cross some developmental line is NOT reverse motion. Forward pressure, even without progress, is normal. Life comes in plateaus and periods of growth.
2. Am I spiritually going backward? The foundation of life is based on the spirit. Ignoring this can cause a problem. However, going backward would imply bringing bad spiritual teachings into your life. Many religions in the world are actually satanism in disguise. Consider carefully this short list: Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam actually worship satan. Dreams of going backward could indicate negative motion spiritually. Bringing dark forces into your life will begin to manifest in other areas of your life: relationships, personal, health, finance and in your PEACE.
If your dreams of going backward are also associated with a loss of peace, a spiritual problem is most likely. Stress over a major event, like death or divorce, is normal. Do not apply these in this interpretation.
3. Prayer is absent. This is the exception to the above. Failing to pray is to your spirit as failing to eat is to your body. After just three days, the effects can be felt and observed. If you do not feed your spirit the "daily bread" of prayer, you are going backward! Your spiritual health is fading and weakening. Other ways to feed your spirit are reading the Bible, attending a GOOD church and obeying God.
4. Eating bad food or ignoring exercise can send your physical health in reverse. Your dreams could signify a call to change your physical condition. Are there other elements in the dream to support this?
5. Mental health: Our physical and mental health are important to us. They impact our quality of life and enable or hinder our capacity to enjoy. If mental health is deteriorating, there should be some aspect in the dream which signals this. Another aspect of dreaming that could signal mental health deterioration is the presence of scattered, jumpy, or disorganized dreams. Fast, shifting, disorganized dreams can also be part of reorganizing thoughts and perceptions.
6. Personal Relationships. Consider anger. If the driving backward also involves a crash, this could represent conflict with another person. If another person is in the car with you, this does not automatically mean conflict. A co-passenger can represent someone else also going backward with you. For example, a co-worker in a failing business might appear as a passenger in a car going backward or downhill. Remember- the dream is meant to convey a message to you. It should make sense to you.

Dream: Obama Last President, then Storm!
Dream between 8:30 and 9:30 am on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009
I see the following image: a long rod of a neutral color, light blue or light gray, extends across the screen. It is inclined upward from left to right. At the lower left end are three rings. Two are solid and unmoving. The third ring is "cracked open". The first two rings could be compared to stone, but this one is alive. The outer shell is open. Inside, the band has spots and color (blues, whites and grays). The inner band moves and pulses. It is alive.
Further down the rod, I see a formless cloud surrounding the rod. It is a gray cloud. I see flashes of red and white lightning inside the cloud.
Discussion: The three first bands represent Bill Clinton, George W. Bush & Barack Obama. The first bands are solid and unmoving because Clinton and Bush's terms are complete. The active band represents the current (as I write this) rulership of Obama. The cloud represents a storm which is coming to this nation.
