Nightmares and Bad Dreams

Nightmares and bad dreams are caused in most cases by demons. Some bad dreams result from unfavorable events experienced in the previous day, from sickness or from discomfort during sleep. These lifestyle and corporeal influence dreams will be addressed in future posts. This post focuses on the work of demons, and how you will break their power, and cast them out of your dreams. (Yes, even Freddie Kruger is easily defeated with these techniques!)

Demons operate on rights. If they attempt to do something not permitted to them, God charges them a very high price.

So, we need to locate the right they are claiming to attack you, and eliminate it. Here are some common rights: 1. Family curse, 2. Unforgiveness, 3. Unrepented sin, 4. Ongoing sin, 5. Idols in the house

These are the Big Five in breaking demonic strongholds.

Really, you need to begin to study "deliverance". I am going to list for you some good resources to learn on free sites. Then, I will provide some quick notes on how to start breaking rights of demons.

Solutions:

1. Family curse: Pray. Listen for the Holy Spirit to tell you what has happened, and what needs to be broken. As Daniel did in Babylon, apologize and confess to our Father in Heaven the "sins of the fathers" and then break those curses. "I break any and all curses that came on me, my family, and all my descendants because of the sins of my forefathers in Jesus' name. I command all demons present because of this sin to go and not return."

2. Unforgiveness: Any old wrong you received which continues to return to your mind through the years is likely not forgiven. Make a general statement that you now release any record of wrong, and forgive each and every person who has ever wronged you. Also forgive yourself for anything you might be punishing yourself for.

3. Unrepented sin: Ask our Father in Heaven to forgive you for all sins of commission and sins of omission. Confess them to God, as Daniel did, as David did. The Holy Spirit, again, will bring to mind anything that needs confessing. For me, He had been reminding me for more than a week before I learned about how to repent and break the soul ties which result from sexual sin, and from participation in drugs, the occult, witchcraft, and owning or possessing idols such as pagan artifacts (eg arrow heads, pottery), paintings (images), and religious icons.


4. Ongoing sin: Sin many times gains a power over the sinner, who then struggles for years to break it. Repentance and breaking soul ties removes this power. Stop all sinning such as: drug use, glorification of drugs, tolerance of drugs, support of drug use.

5. Idols in the house: Images of catholic/orthodox "saints" (these are really reinvented Greek & Roman gods, which are demons), Native American art, little Buddha statues, drug paraphernalia, and etcetera.

The rest of your learning should come from the sites I just gave you. That is where I learned. Go to the source. Remember through it all: the most important thing in deliverance and overcoming the enemy of God is to seek and listen to and obey the Holy Spirit of our Father in Heaven.

Sleep Paralysis

The spirit adjoins the body via the soul. Demonic forces attack the soul, which causes a contest for ownership... this sometimes is the causes the inability to interface with, and move, our own bodies.

Another explanation is that the spirit re-enters the body very rapidly (because of bedroom noise, for example.) and the spirit-soul-body connection imperfectly forms.

However, I believe the primary cause is demonic or supernatural connection.

Somehow, the demons transfer information via this "soulish" connection.

One way to break it is by forcing movement, even if just of the head. Somehow, as soon as the grip is broken by even a simple movement, the entire contact breaks off.

Even calling out to Jesus using just the mind can break it, also. Just think, "Jesus, help me!" and you can break sleep paralysis.

A personal experiences with sleep paralysis:

As a boy, one night I awoke. A window covering most of one wall was completely open. The starlight beamed into the room. Partially illuminated at the end of the bed was a man. I could see his form, silhouette, and facial features. Yet, I could also see the closet doors behind him. His face, stature and general appearance matched my step father. I could lift my head enough to look down and see him. His left hand was on the blankets draped over my feet. He moved slightly. I felt something- a part of me –slide down toward my toes. I screamed. It was a solid scream. The apparition seemed to jerk back, surprised. It moved rapidly and indecisively, then turned toward the closed door, and walked through.

The next morning, mom made inquiries into the loud scream. I confessed it was me and told my story. My step-father, who certainly cared about us, explained that the same night he dreamed he got up and walked around, checking on the children (they had five of us).

In this event, I felt something like a sheet move inside my person. The apparition intrigued me. But, the sensation I felt scared me thoroughly.

Lessons Learned from Making Bad Decisions Based on Dreams

Life Setback Because of False Dream:

A YouTuber PM'd me. His mother had lived more than a decade expecting certain events which never came. She expected these things based on a series of dreams she had.

She received a blessing. When false dreams do manifest (they sometimes do), the outcome is usually terrible and painful. The promises of the devil come with a very high cost. When God promises, it is always better than you expected.

Rules for Filtering False Dreams:

I compiled this list quickly in responding to the PM. The list may be further developed later.

In the beginning, because of a weak spiritual base, I also had deception in my life. I made decisions based on dreams. From that, I have these rules:

1. Make decisions exclusively based on prayer.

2. Pray about every dream, is it from God, from my own mind, or from the enemy of God?

3. Make no decisions based on fear or ambition.

4. After making a decision, how do I feel? If I feel peace, or even strengthened, it was the right decision. If I feel "bad" about it, or have doubts... the decision was all or at least partly wrong.

5. If something feels wrong about a dream, or about my interpretation, I can do nothing about the dream until I can say what the wrong thing/component is.

6. Don't open doors for the enemy. For the enemy to attack, he needs a right. I have removed anything unholy from house. This includes old books, faux-Christian books, anything that might be an "idol", anything that is really demonic (I found some Po-ke-mon tokens that I got in a bag of chips, for example.)

7. The only way to interpret a dream is prayer, or if the dream is interpreted within the dream by an angel (even then, pray to be sure it was from God.)

8. The dream content has to match what is on my heart, and previous content in my dreams. The devil once tried to convince me that I would be a great doctor, and lay the groundwork for regeneration of limbs on humans. I never had a dream about that, ever! I had no aspirations to do that, either.

9. If I receive a false dream, I don't write it down, I don't share it either. I just remember the content. The devil often blitzes thousands of people with the same dream. This plants a false notion. Christians seem to have this superstition that if two or three dream something, then it is true. Scripture says if two or three prophecy, then we should consider it, "consider" it. I look to see who is reporting that information, and tag that "prophet" with a huge question mark.

10. A dream is a warning or a promise. God likes to give surprises. The best things in my life, the ones from God, were completely hidden. One reason is that, if the devil knows the promise, he also knows what and how to attack.

11. When a dream outcome is undesirable, it is time to pray and time to bind. If the dream is from God, then it is also time to repent and time to change our decision making process.

12. Do not allow the absence of a dream about something rule it out. It seems a huge number of dreams would eventually venture into every major life event, process and period. But, to rule something out, like buying a particular home or renting a particular apartment is an error. It could be that you had many dreams about the place, but simply have not yet recognized it. The brunette future wife in your dreams could be dyed blonde. I dreamed of my future loving wife with long, dark hair. When I met her, it was cut short. I never mentioned the long hair. After a year of marriage, she grew it out. Her dark hair has been long ever since.

Prayer is the answer to life decisions, not private interpretation of dreams.

Snakes in a Dream Meaning

Snakes in Dreams

The following instruction about  the meaning of snakes in dreams is carefully composed from over 18 years of personal experience as a nightly dreamer and as an interpreter of night visions for friends and strangers.

Snakes in dreams represent one or both of these two things: fear and/or evil forces.

Examples to support this dream symbol interpretation follow:

One repeating dream from the mid 90’s involved a massive snake. He manifested in dirty water. In each of these dreams, I would be swimming in a dirty creek. Waterborne sand colored the water, and reduced visibility to less than 20 feet. The giant snake would appear, and I would attempt to fight it. Something would go wrong, and I would wake up almost instantly. In each of these, I experienced a lot of fear.

Note the order of events: first, swimming in dirty water, second, fear, third, snake appears. The snake always appeared after I felt fear. So, symbolically, the snake represents one’s own fear. In life, fear “attacks” us. It stops us from applying for good jobs, prevents us from seeking better contracts in our business, and generally slows us down and forces bad decisions. Fear is an enemy. In Christianity, fear is a sin; fearing is a lack of faith and doubting God. Sin opens the door to the enemy, demonic elements. So:

Fear opens a door to sin, and through that door, a demonic force comes.

Here is another example. In this dream I am with my then business partner, Peter. Peter later betrayed me and framed me for embezzlement. He knew I was innocent. But, the third partner, who really stole the money, was powerfully connected. So, Peter chose the easy road. Here is the dream:

I am with Peter in a desert place. Peter is showing me an underground room. He says he goes there “all the time”, and it is safe. I am doubtful. But, after some convincing, I enter first. Once inside, I see massive numbers of snakes manifest and head toward me. After some yelling, I am lifted out. “That has never happened before,” Peter says.

Peter was unflappable. He was a trained professional psychologist and rarely flinched. Whether the dream foreshadowed the future deception and betrayal, or the snakes manifested for me because of fear, and not for him because of confidence, I do not know.

Here is how the business ended: Peter convinced me to meet with our third partner’s father, a Philadelphia lawyer. In the meeting, papers were quickly passed around. The lawyer pushed us to hurry. He had a meeting soon, he told us. After the papers were signed and removed from the meeting room, he informed us that we had just signed ownership over to the third partner. Now, he informed me that he golfs weekly with the sitting district attorney. This golf buddy will do anything he asks, he said. And, if I even set foot into one of the businesses, he will have me jailed and convicted of embezzlement. I believe that was the manifestation. Peter had been secretly talking with them, I later deduced. However, I don’t know if he knew what was going to happen. The crooked lawyer (the snakes) played us like the rookies we were.

So, snakes in dreams warn of evil forces. They enter in because of fear. If I had not been afraid, and if I did not have other sin in my life, I believe I would have come out on top in that contest.

More on the snake in the dirty creek dreams:

Dirty Creek: This represents the spiritual course of my life. At the time, I read heavily anything I could get. This included a lot of new age books, mythology, native American teachings, dream dictionaries, and other “contaminated” sources of information. My course was not clean.

Two-headed snake meaning: In one of the last dreams of fighting a snake in the dirty creek, I pinned one of the heads to the creek bed. As I held it there, I celebrated. A great sense of victory came into my heart. I silently cheered. Just then, the other end of the snake turned toward me. As it approached, I saw it had a second head. Since both hands were occupied holding the first head down, I panicked, and woke. So, I believe that one end of this (evil) snake is fear and the other extreme is arrogance. In the middle is fearlessness and humility- based on faith in God.

The two headed serpent occurs in the mythology of many cultures from Greece in Europe to Latin American Aztecs. I am going to interpret this as a problem difficult to assess, difficult to “get your hands on”. It is a complicated life issue, or a complicated personality flaw. Of course, the flaw may very well manifest in one or several ways.

Orca: In at least two of the dreams, the snake morphed into an orca, a killer whale. At the time, I pondered the meaning of a black & white mammal. I interpreted it to mean a mixture of good and bad. Like the dirty creek, it represented the mix of right (white) knowledge (my Bible reading) and false (black) teaching from the New Age section of the book store. The basis of my problems was the open door of false teachings I had naively chosen to bring into my life.

What Percentage of People Dream in Color?

I watched a movie last night, "What if?" A man enters an alternate reality via an angel. He sees what his life would have been if he had made a different decision. He wakes up out if his experience in a hospital bed. (It is as if the entire experience had been a dream.)

In the movie, he says, "They say only 1 in 200 people dream in color. I guess I'm one of those." A few weeks ago, a Christian woman I know made a similar claim to me, telling me, "My dreams are in color. I am one of the few who dream in color." She explained she learned this information while watching a movie. Truth is, almost everyone I have ever asked dreams in color. It is more rare to dream in black & white. I even have a post about dreams without images. However, dreams without images and dreams in black and white, even cartoon dreams, are very uncommon.

99.9% of dreams are in color. You see real events just like the people who will actually be present, allowing, of course, for personal schemas, expectations, and bias.

After a poll, taken of people reading on the Internet about dreaming, the following results were attained:

Dreams of the Future of the Stock Market:

This is one prayer and two dreams about the stock market. Two have already happened, the third (from yesterday) is not yet:

In late 2000, I frequented a coffee shop on Saturday mornings to sit and read. I began to chat with the retired men and women who gathered there. One man, retired from the dental profession, had millions in the stock market. I had shared many dreams and revelations with them. So, one day, they were talking about how to invest. One of the men asked me, "Say, you are the one with all the dreams, how should we invest?" I answered that I have no specific dream on this topic, so I will need to pray about it.

I went home and prayed. The Holy Spirit answered very quickly, "Tell him to sell all his stocks, wait three months, and buy it all back again." I returned to the coffee shop the following morning and told him the advice. They laughed. I shrugged.

Two weeks later, I sat reading near the retirees. I heard the retired dentist say he had lost $300,000 overnight, and was still losing. He feared his losses could total half a million. I looked up and said, "See, I told you. The Holy Spirit warned you." They all just looked at me. None of them said a word. After a few seconds of their faces changing colors, some to white, some to red, they began talking again, as if I had said nothing.

They never again asked me about any dream, or for any information.

The Stock Market will Never Again Reach 14,000

I was praying about the maximum height the stock market would reach. The Holy Spirit told me it would reach 14,000- but just barely. Then, it would drop and never reach that height again. In fact, the stock market eventually reached 14,001- but just for a moment, then began its decline. Today it is near 12,000. This means it cannot grow much higher.

Nap, short dream:
Just nodded off at my desk... quick dream: watching bar chart, hear, "Get ready, stocks going down. Lost 4 percent already." (Don't know when that is for)

I saw a figure ... it looked like 4.04% as the decline. Somehow, I also expected to see more days with 4% declines, that this day was the first. Perhaps the notion, which I only partly grasped, was that there would be more days of declines, but necessarily 4% plus or minus a few tenths. I'm not sure.

Comments on Dream Interpretation:
When something is gray, unclear, or only partly comprehended, include this in your notes. When you return to the dream 10 years later, on the day you saw it fulfilled, you will no longer recall what was perfectly clear and what appeared as if through a dark pane of glass.
